A Summer Day

Recreational ocean swimmers lap around buoys at the quarter and half mile mark. Every summer, athletes compete in the La Jolla Rough Water Swim. Started in 1916, this competition is billed as America's premier ocean race.

La Jolla also hosts a Half Marathon and 5k Run which ends at Scripps Park at the Cove. As you can imagine, athletes travel far and wide to enjoy the views as they run along the Pacific coastline. This race is rated as one of the top 25 Half Marathons in the country by Runners World Magazine.

The views are made spectacular by fortunate geological formations. La Jolla Cove CA is situated along a rocky cliff area, allowing us a view from 30 - 50 feet high.

Whale watching is possible during the right season. I have seen Gray Whales and Blue Whales migrate off this coast from these bluffs.
